Random NYC address generator for forms and QA
This city-specific generator filters the New York pool before choosing a record. Its current snapshot contains 1,802 matching addresses across Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island ZIP groups. It does not return Buffalo or other upstate New York records.
Generate 1, 5, 10, or 25 records for checkout validation, delivery-zone interfaces, CRM fixtures, database seeds, and responsive UI previews. Every batch can be copied or downloaded as CSV or JSON in the browser.
Need statewide coverage instead? Use the random New York address generator. For data provenance, validation boundaries, and permitted use, read the NorthMock methodology.
New York City address coverage snapshot
The current NYC filter matched 1,802 records and 48 normalized postal locality labels. Counts describe this generator pool only; they are not population statistics, a complete ZIP directory, or proof that an individual address can receive mail.

Snapshot: August 12, 2026. The filter includes 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 111, 112, 113, 114, and 116 prefixes. It intentionally excludes unrelated New York State ZIP groups.
New York City address format for test forms
Keep the street line, postal locality, state code, and ZIP code in separate fields. A postal locality may be “New York,” “Brooklyn,” “Bronx,” “Jamaica,” “Astoria,” or another represented label; do not force every borough into “New York” when testing locality-sensitive forms.
Field template
[Street number] [Street name] [optional unit]
[Postal locality], NY [5-digit ZIP code]
United States
QA field rules
- Address line 1
- Street number and street name; keep an apartment or suite in its supported secondary field.
- City
- Preserve the generated postal locality instead of substituting a borough label.
- State
- Use the two-letter code
NY. - ZIP code
- Store five digits as text so validation does not coerce or reformat the value.
- Country
- Use United States or country code
US.
Five-borough QA matrix
| Scenario | Example locality/state | Expected ZIP group | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manhattan fixture | New York, NY | 100xx–102xx | City and state remain separate fields. |
| Bronx fixture | Bronx, NY | 104xx | The form accepts Bronx as the postal locality. |
| Brooklyn fixture | Brooklyn, NY | 112xx | The city field is not overwritten with New York. |
| Queens fixture | Jamaica, NY or another generated locality | 111xx, 113xx, 114xx, or 116xx | Locality-specific validation preserves the API value. |
| Staten Island fixture | Staten Island, NY | 103xx | The full locality name fits mobile and database fields. |
For mailing syntax, see USPS Publication 28. NYC311 documents New York City's five boroughs and corresponding counties. NorthMock's prefix groups are a test-data filter, not an official postal boundary product.
How to test applications with NYC records
- Generate a mixed borough batch. Select 25 records and confirm the application accepts multiple NYC postal localities instead of requiring a single city string.
- Validate field boundaries. Map
address_line,locality,region_code, andpostal_codeindependently in CSV, JSON, or API fixtures. - Exercise constrained inputs. Test apartment fields, long locality labels, five-digit ZIP validation, mobile wrapping, and database imports.
- Use safe contact values. Keep the reserved 555 number for copy-ready phone fields and open the generated gravityengine.cc inbox in a new tab for email-flow testing.
Does this page generate only New York City records?
It filters the New York source pool to the ten documented NYC ZIP-prefix groups before a record is selected. The API response also identifies this page with city ID nyc.
Are all ZIP codes in New York State included?
No. The city page intentionally excludes non-NYC groups. Use the statewide New York generator when a test should include Buffalo or other represented New York localities.
Can I export an NYC batch?
Yes. Generate up to 25 records, then download CSV or JSON locally in the browser.
Designed for legitimate testing
- The complete copy-ready phone number uses a local area code and the reserved 555-0100 through 555-0199 fictional range.
- The real-prefix preview comes from current NANPA or CNA assignment data; its final four digits stay masked because they may belong to a real subscriber.
- Email addresses use gravityengine.cc and link to the matching disposable inbox.
- Fictional names are independently assembled from 400 aggregate SSA popular first names and 1,000 US Census surnames, providing 400,000 gender-tagged combinations without copying complete identities.
- Supplemental address data includes © OpenStreetMap contributors, data made available through OpenAddresses, information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Yukon, and public sector datasets under the City of Yellowknife Open Data License v1.
- Generated records are intended for development, demos, and sandbox validation only.
- Do not use generated data to impersonate people, receive physical mail, or bypass identity checks.
